Born in Italy but currently living in London, Eleonora is an eclectic producer and selector who has been being involved in many different aspects of the music/media business. From DJing in the most exclusive clubs to setting up her own label, Stilnovo Music, and promotions company, AheadPR, Eleonora balances her activities for optimum output whilst travelling around the world to spread the musical word.

Eleonora first made her mark in 2006 with the release of the compilation “Underground Soul” on Expansion Records. The CD was very well received worldwide, with good reviews and dj support. Today, be it house, techno or experimental electronica, she has DJ’d at a wide range of venues such as Pacha, Jazz Café, Turnmills, Penthouse and Fabric, where she was hand picked to perform by (and alongside) US jock King Britt.

Eleonora has had the pleasure of sharing events with artists like Vikter Duplaix, The Jinks (Defected), Lisa Pin Up and Francesco Farfa as well as spinning to top officials and celebrities alike. In fact she is now resident DJ in the VIP room at London’s most exclusive members club, Whisky Mist.

Outside the UK, Eleonora has touched base in Ireland, Spain, Malta, Bulgaria, United States (Miami WMC), and of course in her native Italy, where she is part of the Soundzrise crew on the nation’s number one dance network, Radio M2o.

Eleonora also hosts her own radio show “Stilnovo Sessions” on the popular London-Tokyo radio station Samurai FM. Her mixes can also be heard of several stations across the globe, such as Fashion FM, IbizaGlobalRadio, SSRadio and more.

Press coverage has also been generous, with features on Esquire, Pioneer DJ Sounds, Blues & Soul, Echoes, Time Out, Mami, as well as various website and online magazines across the pond. Eleonora is also going to make an appearance on Des Taylor’s comic book “The Trouble with Katie Rogers”, to be released soon in the United States.

The focus is now on the newly launched record label Stilnovo Music, for which Eleonora has already started working with artists like Rogiers, Sun Singleton, Opolopo, and Atjazz.

URBNET: When conducting the promotions company AheadPR and your record label Stilnovo Music where do you find peace of mind?
Eleonora Cutaia: They are both my babies so I love them both! The type of person I am, I also need diversity in my life, so working on both projects gives me a good balance. I find it very stimulating and inspiring discovering great talents, and helping them get their music heard.

Since your first release on Expansion Records how do you feel your music has influenced the people who have followed your productions and musical style changes?
- My style has definitely changed since I started, however I believe it all comes from the same root, and I look at it more like a progression, as well as the results of being musically open minded. I still get surprised to these days when I get messages from fans from Countries I've never been to, or when people come to hear me DJing, knowing everything about what I do! I think I have found a niche with my music, staying away from the mainstream, but at the same time offering a sound that is accessible enough for those who take the time to listen to it. I know for example that I have inspired a few DJs to really try and educate their crowd. It can be a longer process but the results are definitely rewarding!

With so much DJ experience where have been some of your favorite places to play and also DJ alongside with?
- The more time goes by, the more I favour quality over quantity. I have turned down gigs because of this, because I never wanted for DJing to feel like a job. I want to make sure I have a great time whenever I play at a party. There have been some great moments...some of my favourites would be a party in Dublin, Fabric with King Britt, and the times I played in Italy. I was very nervous to play in Italy (my native Country). Funny enough I am considered a foreign act over there! I couldn't believe I had such welcoming fans over there, after one of the reasons why I left Italy, was because I was not understood on a musical/artistic level.

Your show Stilnovo Sessions hits the airwaves through the London-Tokyo station Samurai FM , do you feel radio is still one of the last voices that cannot be shut down to get across media and messages to the world?
- Radio has changed so much with the Internet revolution. There is so much more freedom now, but at the same time there is such a saturation, that makes it a lot more difficult for your voice to be heard. I respect Samurai FM for the very high quality they have and I'm glad to be a part of their roster. However i think this is a very transitional moment for Radio, and I don't believe it is going to be a focus for me in the near future.

What new artists do you hope to expose through Stilnovo Music before the end of the year?
- I have some really exciting material in the pipeline... there is a Dubstep inspired release to come out over the next few months, whilst the next single will be 'Lost Causes' from Taiwan's Sona. It's going to have very different versions: from bumpin Tech-House to the Broken Beat and Chillout mixes I have produced myself. I try to bring a little variery to the table!

We're also working on new material from Sun Singleton as well as a fantastic newcomer called Dezaray. We're a bit behind with the schedule but we should be getting busy after the Summer. So much to do and so little time, as usual!

The current single 'Dance of the Soul' is also making some waves so I definitely want to thank all of those who are supporting it.
