It may be getting colder outside but summer still lives on in Milla Thyme's new pop-soul jam, “3 Dimensions”. It is the second single off his debut album Everything Has Its Thyme, which is set for release in April 2021 via URBNET.
Milla Thyme (Maxwell Miller) is set to release his debut full-length album titled Everything Has Its Thyme, on April 2, 2021 via URBNET. Co-produced by Milla and Chris Vincent, and also mixed by Vincent, (Urban Science, Busty and The Bass), the twelve track record features Milla’s long time backing band, as well as Montreal artists Cloves, Myrtle Thomas, Wayne Tennant, Clerel and Anomalie.
It was during a seven month exchange in Mexico and Nicaragua that Milla really began to give life to the record. He drew influence from his new surroundings, as well as from a class he was taking on The Beatles, which ultimately inspired much of the visual storytelling on the album. He cites other primary influences as Nas and Kendrick Lamar’s album To Pimp a Butterfly. Once he returned home to Montreal, Milla reached out to Chris Vincent for production touches.
Everything Has Its Thyme is a heart-on-your-sleeve kind of work and the sincerity in each track is seamless. In speaking to the significance of the album, Milla states
“I’m not trying to lie to anyone, I’m not trying to create a fake persona out here, trying to deceive people. God gave mankind the gift of music, so what I’m trying to do wth this album is show you different narratives of different folks…show you different perspectives”
