DJ Standfast is a producer and turntablist born from the dusty crates and breaks of 90's hip-hop. His debut album, The Northern Letter, is the culmination of a passion that started decades ago in a basement with some old records and an MPC.
Hailing from Toronto, DJ Standfast began playing many weekly and monthly parties across the city, eventually stretching out across Canada and Europe. Beyond the DJ booth, he produced for local MC's in Toronto's underground hip-hop scene, as well as for artists in Belgium, France and Hungary.
DJ Standfast's beats weave an evocative, nuanced journey that feels both nostalgic and futuristic. A nod to the art of turntablism and the DJ's role as a sonic architect.
